Back to School Information - 2025-26

Schools Open - Schools in Grasslands will be open beginning the week of August 25th.  

Students' First Day -  Students will start classes on September 2nd.  Please check with your children's school for any specific schedules and processes.

School Year Calendar -  The 2025-26 school year calendar can viewed on the website.

New Students - Students who are new to Grasslands can register via our online registration link .   

School Supply List -  Please check your child's school website for a list of school supplies needed for the 2025-26 year.

City of Brooks Bus Passes - Students who are eligible to ride the bus can register online or go to the Grasslands Board Office beginning August 18th.  Please note, not all students qualify as transportation funding provided by Alberta Education to Grasslands is based on the distance (2.4 km) students live from the school.

Rural Bus Transportation - Students living outside of Brooks do not need to register for a pass as long as the student is registered with a Grasslands school.  Questions regarding rural busing can be directed to the Transportation Supervisor, Lynetta Thiessen.

Walking School Bus -  Did you know that Grasslands has Walking School Buses?  Young students who live in the neighbourhoods around Uplands Elementary, Eastbrook Elementary and Griffin Park schools can join a walking school bus which is guided by an adult to help students walk to and from school.  If you are interested in having your child walk to school as part of a Walking School Bus, please sign up at your child's school.
